We need things to live - air to breathe, food to eat, shelter from the weather. The Bible reveals that this is true of everything in creation - that nothing is really independent in its existence, but depends on other things - and this great chain of dependency all depends, moment by moment, on God's sustaining presence. But God is different - God exists of Himself, depending on nothing, and the Bible draws this distinction clearly between the existence of God and every other kind of existence. As we start this new series on the attributes of God, we consider here the impact of the Biblical revelation of God's self-existence.
